After a night of Hot Springs last week, Mold a Cock theme, I had a very early flight to Vancouver. Another travel wedding destination to go to but this time, I was part of the wedding party. It’s a friend that I have known since grade 8, it will be 20 years ago as of this September 2012. We sure have gone through some great adventures together and so many of them that was not able to be included in the wedding speech. Her side of the family would be totally fine with the scenario since they are very extroverted, musician(s), and has a ”hippie-mentality”. On the flip side of his side, they were introverted, quiet, conservative and shy.
My speech didn’t include fun stories such as me being the perfect “wing women”- the girls chasing her and this happened on a few occasions in Vancouver and even in Montreal (our girls only weekend trip 2006) nor stories like hanging out with the family after Christmas dinner, jamming and 420/hot-boxing in the basement. I would have like to say the whole story on how they met but I was not allowed to say the whole truth as it would have been embarrassing.(He hated the fact that I demanded his ID when she wanted to go home with him the first night). His side doesn’t know even the whole honest truth and her side of the family totally knows the story. **sigh, wedding secrets**
Despite the speech censorship, my speech went well. I had my notes ready in hand in point form but really I wanted to speak from the heart and I even surprised them with a nice bottle of maple syrup infused whiskey liquor to toast since they met each other at a Whiskey tasting. Once all the speeches were done, it was dessert/social time before all the tables were cleared for some serious dancing and heavy drinking.
I haven’t had so much fun dancing in years! Her two brothers DJ and one actually lives in Toronto who I haven’t seen in years since he was a little boy. DJ Kaewonder rocked the house with old tunes, rock, and anything that kept us on the dance floor all night long!! I have to admit that I only remembered the good things that happen the remaining night- dancing, way too much gin and tonics(almost the whole bottle), and musical beds (ha, mine or our secret). Yes, even the bride doesn’t know everything….
